We were lucky enough to be invited to the opening of the new Living Worlds exhibition at Manchester University Museum last week, http://www.museum.manchester.ac.uk/yourvisit/galleries/livingworlds and were asked to take along two Chameleons to showcase the fabulous vivarium at the Museum, which houses a beautiful collection of reptiles and amphibians in wonderfully naturalistic surroundings.
We had previously given Andrew Gray, Curator of herpetology at the museum, Bubblegum Junior for display, but he is shy, and not to keen on all the attention he was getting whilst on display at the museum. The whole purpose of the display is to educate people about the species housed their, and an integral part of that is being able to see the reptile on display.
So knowing Bubblegums awesome nature, we were asked if we wouldnt mind leaving Bubblegum there, and taking his son home with us after the exhibition opening. I will admit, I was reluctant at first, as Bubblegum is litterally a part of the family, but he is nearly 5, and in perfect health and has, over the years got used to human interaction and certainly doesnt shy away whilst people are looking at him, so I agreed. Knowing he would be in the best hands. Here he is in his holiday home!
