Some of our rescues will be offered for adoption,ocasionally for a small donation. (Usually no donation will be asked for, however if any rehome has been given substantial veterinarian care and therefor will require extra special attention for the rest of their lives, a small donation will be asked to go someway to cover vets costs and to ensure that full after care can be provided to the Chameleon in their forever home

Please be aware that adoptions should only be taken if you are prepared to give the correct care and attention as most adoptions will require special care.

Please be aware of the following regarding Chameleocos policies on adopted and rehomed chameleons.

• No adopted/rehomed chameleon may be resold for cash. No exeptions.
• No adopted/rehomed chameleon may be swaped for another animal of any kind.
• We must be able to maintain contact with any adopted/rehomed chameleons.
• We reserve the right to refuse adoption/rehome on any basis at any stage of proceedings.(All/Any deposits/monies will be returned in full)
• We require full name and address of any persons taking rescued Chameleons (as with any Chameleon taken from us wether rehome or bred by us)
• Any adopted/rehomed Chameleon must be cared for in the way stipulated before adoption/rehoming.(With regards to breeding/care requirements including but not limited to temperature/feeder insects/gutloading/supplementing/housing)
• If any problems arise with any adopted/rehomed Chameleon, the persons responsible for the Chameleon at the time of problem arising will be responsible for costs of veterinarian care or similar.
• We will be required to know of any illness/problems with any adopted/rehomed Chameleon as and when they happen at the nearest convienience to the owner.
• We reserve first refusal on any adopted/rehomed Chameleon that you may wish to further rehome at a later date.
• We MUST know if you are rehoming any adopted/rehomed Chameleon and reserve the right to hold information on any new owners of any chameleons adopted out/rehomed by ourselves.
• You must agree to all the above and any care guidelines given by ourselves with regards to any adoption/rehome.

Bendy:

Bendy was given to us by a pet shop, who had been given her back by a customer with severe MBD.

This is an excellent case to outline a number of issues. Bendy had MBD, but it was not the result of inadequate dietry calcium, she had indeed been fed a diet with plenty of calcium, the crickets she was fed were coated in calcium, and also fed it. Bendy had calcium, the only problem was, she had not been given the chance to process any of it, due to inadequate lighting, meaning she was not able to produce any natural D3 from UV radiation.
