Paid a visit to see Jamie and his chams at Chameleoco today. As good as the pictures are they just don't do justice to how stunning the animals are in the flesh! I'll be back over in a few weeks to pick up a little male Ambilobe, offspring of Jaws. Thanks for your time Jamie and Laura.

At Chameleoco we are dedicated to providing quality captive bred chameleons for like minded reptile enthusiaists and fellow chameleon keepers. We breed a wide range of chameleons, but we are particluartly proud of are unique and exciting range of Furcifer pardalis lines. That is the Panther Chameleon to the uninitiated!
Below you can see a description for all the panther locales that we are currently breeding from. Panther chameleons exhibit many different brilliant color morphs or phases named after the geographic location they come from in their native habitat of Madagascar. If you are interested in purchasing a chameleon, you should check the 'available now' section for the most up to date information on availablity.
Ambilobe Chameleons are very brightly coloured and generally posses a wide palette of colour and will often display a number of these colours all at once. Usually divided into “blue bar” and “red bar”, “blue bar” Ambilobe Panthers will have blue bars and “red bar” will have red bars. Both “blue bar” and “red bar” may display blue/green one moment before bursting into neon yellow, orange, red, blue and green. Some Ambilobe Panthers may be neither “blue bar” or “red bar”.
They may have a white mouth and or bluish/white lateral stripe. May have white speckles along sides and on head. Yellow/Red gular may be spotted with white. May show red on underside, may appear all blue/green with only hints of red. May appear all yellow with red and blue.
Ambilobe Panthers are sometimes sold under the designer name “Picasso” or “Sirama” after a town very close to Ambilobe. They can also have a mixture of two. Normally chameleons from this locale are identified from their bright yellow background with a good Y bar, though there are alway exceptions.
Nosy Ankarea Chameleons have a barring that is typically red or green, eye turrets are red and show black striping when in display. Mouth is typically white as is lateral stripe. During rest/display base colour can change rapidly to banana yellow with red barring. The mouth is typically white as is lateral stripe.
Nosy Ankarea is a small island which forms part of a chain, or cluster of islands in the North West of Madagascar. Nosy Ankerea is located North east of the island of Nosy Be. This island is, unlike some parts of Madagascar mostly untouched by modern developments.
The highest peak on Nosy Ankarea is 219 metres. Nosy Mitsio is visable from Nosy Ankarea. Panther Chameleons from Nosy Ankarea typically look very similar to those from Nosy Mitsio, although Nosy Ankarea Panthers have a slightly darker green base colour whereas Nosy Mitsio Panthers are more lime green
Nosy Be Panther Chameleons are known as the “blue” morph. These chameleons can be from shades of green to bright blue. Also chameleons from this island can have the red speckling, much like those of Nosy Faly but lacking the white background.
Wild specimins tend to be greener, although bluer Nosy be Panthers have been found in wild populations, they do not show the solid blue colour of the blue Nosy bes that are captively bred, who often show no red speckles and much reduced yellow.
Additionally Nosy Be Panther Chameleons can have strong yellow eye turrets and lips. Nosy Be is an island found on the northwest coast of Madagascar.

Tamatave Panther Chameleons are the most south locale of Panther Chameleons. Tamatave Panther Chameleons are the most south locale of Panther Chameleons. These Panther Chameleons are by far the most red. Often Tamatave Panther Chameleons will have a red blurred U bar on yellowish orange to reddish orange background.
Additionally they can have a large amount of white in their faces and white raised scale specking through their bodies.

Sambava Panther Chameleons have orange to red “U” barring on a orange to yellow background. Capable of startling colour changes, Sambava Panthers may show green when in a relaxed state, but when presented with a male or a female he wishes to mate with, Sambavas will often fire up fiery red/orange with striking black patterns.
Sambava Panthers will often have a “U” in the barring on their sides. Oranges and reds are usually apparent on underside, around eyes and speckles on the side of the chameleon. This is not always apparent though. Sambava Panther chameleons are sometimes referred to as “orange phase”. Their coloration generally includes green, yellow, orange and red with dark pattern lines with a bluish white lateral line.
